Optus Results through the First Three Quarters in 2009
October 22, 2009

Jonesboro, AR - Despite the past year of economic uncertainty, one Northeast Arkansas business has managed to see positive growth each quarter of 2009.

Optus, Inc. has grossed over $24 million in revenue for the first three quarters of 2009, with $8.5 million in the third quarter alone. Each of these figures shows an increase of more than 10 percent from 2008.

“It’s a true testament to the dedication of all Optus employees that we were able to put up such great numbers and see such an increase in one of the worst economies in 50 years,” said Mark Duckworth, President and CEO of Optus.

One factor in the continued growth and success of Optus has been the addition of several national accounts and the expansion of existing accounts including Bed, Bath & Beyond, Saks Fifth Avenue, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and O’Reilly Auto Parts.

“Optus is equipped with the perfect balance of inventory, customer service and experience. These are qualities that any size corporation can appreciate and trust, as proven by the diversity of our clientele,” said Duckworth.

Another financial contributor to Optus’ success is the Advanced Technologies Division (ATD). Although this facet of the business is relatively new, it has seen record-breaking growth in the past 10 months.

The Advanced Technologies Division at Optus is the IT centric part of the organization. This division provides the highest quality technology based services, solutions and consultation to businesses and organizations in the state of Arkansas.

“Our Advanced Technologies Division has done a tremendous job this year, and especially this quarter. We have seen this group fulfill our vision of creating new customers and new revenue streams as well as servicing our existing clients,” commented David Sluder, Chief Operating Officer at Optus.

In the beginning of 2009, Optus chose to operate under a leaner financial infrastructure as a preventative method to the economic downturn.

“We didn’t know the future of our economy so we chose to take a safer financial route this year. It’s been harder this year than in the past but we have still shown growth, and that proves that our teamwork and dedication are paying off,” said Duckworth.

Headquartered in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Optus, Inc. has been providing businesses with communication solutions for 18 years. Now a leading national supplier of new and refurbished voice, video and data business communication parts, solutions and services, the company employs approximately 130 sales, service and administrative professionals in five states.
